CHURCH SCHOOL NEWS

Submitted By:   Cal and Gail Hess

Now that is September it is time to reassemble our young people around the Church School altar. As we have done each year recently, we will study our faith (Bible), our Church traditions, as well as promote service to God and fellowship with each other. Class lessons begin September 23rd following several weeks of registration and preparation. We hope that this will be the year for all the young people in the parish to take advantage of the Christian curriculum and hard work of the core of excellent volunteer teachers. As in the past, opening exercises begin at 10:15 to coincide with the Church service (a perfect opportunity for the entire family to experience our corporate worship service.) Each session consists of a 15 minute group opening exercise followed by a 30 minute lesson and the Communion with the full congregation upstairs. Again this year the youth will share upstairs and on occasion perform Church Choir songs. Class volunteers will include Allison Thaler and others for Nursery responsibilities (ages Birth to 3 years), Gail Hess and Laura Murphy will have the 3 years to Kindergarten, Adrienne Hess and Grace Filoromo will have the children grades 1 thru 3, Barb Ammon will have the children grades 4-7, and William Reid will have the young peoples in grades 8 through 12. Parents let us help you to promote Christian values by supporting the Church School experience. Give the experience a chance. Let’s make this the year of “more full commitment to our common faith.” If anyone in the parish would like to assist us please contact Cal and Gail Hess. We can always use help. We are excited by the fact that there are 57 young people listed as possible attendees for Church School (9 Nursery, 14 Pre-School, 9 Primary, 10 Intermediate, and 15 High School.)
