Hearts and Hands In Action- Guests are made to feel welcomed, and are invited to participate fully in all services and programs.
- Various congregants send notes and bulletins to persons who have been absent to let them know they are missed.
- Cards are sent to those who are sick and/or hospitalized, and communion is taken to hospitals and sick-beds.
- Parish visits are scheduled by the vicar.
- Meals are provided for families and individuals in crisis, (such as a death in the family or debilitating illness), and to support new mothers & fathers.
- Funeral luncheons are arranged, “from soup to nuts”.
- Rides are arranged for persons who need them, (doctor’s appointments, hospital visits, grocery shopping, etc.)
- Emergency childcare is available for crisis situations.
- Skilled and willing workers are available who can help with household emergencies and some home repairs when funds are low.
While these services, and more, are available as part of Ascension’s “Hearts & Hands Network”, your help is needed in two ways: 1) Identifying the persons who could use those services, and telling Fr. White or one of the Wardens; and 2) Letting those same persons know if you would like to get involved in any of the ministries listed. Whether you are the person who could use some assistance, or you know of someone else who does, please let one of us know. Help the congregation “spread the love around”!
